They say a picture is worth a thousand words…how much is a video worth?
This is my very first video making effort, and I’m sure anyone who knows anything about putting a video together will laugh at what I’ve done! But I don’t mind. This was fun to make, and I hope it does what I want it to do: convey the world of a Food Allergy Family to people who don’t struggle the same way!
If you think it does, would you please share this video as part of my FAAW outreach?
(And don’t worry – I may have let him meander around the play area, but he got a thorough hand and feet washing as soon as we left! Just in case, you know.)
It made me cry thinking how happy he was and you 🙂 I can’t even leave mine a church I stay with her it’s more the other kids dropping food and her eating then who’s in there it’s just better I stay with her 24/7 🙂
Yes, he loved every little step he took! We’ve sadly been avoiding church for many months now because I can’t ensure my kiddos stay safe from food (or art supplies). It makes me sad, because I believe strongly in raising my children in the church. I just wish there was more support and willingness to accommodate. Maybe one day when they’re older and can self-advocate I can risk it. Sigh. I hate to wait that long, though.
My Sarah has great nurse’s and medical aide’s that go to school with her so she can be as “normal” as possible. I totally understand your joy over this day…and you made me cry. Her nurse carries a medical supply bag everywhere they go so she can use her own soap to wash her hands, and so she can “glove-up” when in art class. The bag also contains special cleaning clothes that don’t require chemicals or food ingredients, so she can clean any surface (desk, lunch tables, etc.) before Sarah comes in contact with it. I’m so happy for Zac and for you that you were able to do this. Also, I still cannot figure out how to put a video together, so you have one up on me 🙂 .
That is awesome for Sarah! I can imagine from a little girls’ perspective, she not only gets to be “normal” but she has a built-in friend, too! What special cleaning cloths do you use? Norwex?
Thanks for being happy for us…and LOL about the video! 🙂
